The Ribbon is our reference banquette: a back divided into horizontal channels, each around 10 cm deep, stitched right down to the frame so every row stands proud and casts a clean shadow line. Horizontal channels widen a wall visually, which is why they suit long runs in hotel dining rooms and all-day restaurants where the banquette may be ten or fifteen metres long.
We set out the channel count on the shop drawing for your exact back height, so the top and bottom rows finish at equal widths rather than leaving a thin sliver against the seat. A contrasting welt runs along the crest and seat front; the seat is a separate cushion on a sprung or webbed deck, sitting on a recessed timber plinth that keeps cleaning equipment and shoes away from the fabric.
The frame is kiln-dried hardwood and plywood, joined and screwed, with high-resilience foam specified to the destination market's fire rules. Sections join with concealed bolts so a long run reads as one continuous piece. Specify it in velvet, wool, bouclé or leather; with the Wraparound Channel End the rows continue round the end without a break.
