A cylinder cut in half and parted slightly is the form of this table. The top is a white stone look with bold, branching charcoal veins, edged in a deep, matte antique-brass band. The base is two curved bronze-brass panels, each a half-cylinder, set side by side with a narrow gap between them.
A calm base for a busy top. The veining on the slab is lively; the base is deliberately plain, so the table holds together. The gap between the panels lets light through and gives the base a sense of movement.
Construction. Brass or brass-finished steel rolled to a curve and welded, with a dark matte antique finish that is deepened or lightened to your sample. The slab is bonded to a sub-frame fixed to both panels; each panel has levelling glides. Dark metal hides marks well, which is an advantage in a busy room.
Where it works. Grill rooms, hotel dining rooms, cocktail restaurants and any room with dark panelling, where the white top becomes the lightest thing on the table plan. It sits well beside oxblood and deep green banquettes.
Placing it. Two panels leave a small gap in the centre, so knees at the two seats are on the open sides of the table; we mark the preferred orientation on the drawing.
Options. Stone look, metal tone and panel radius can all be changed on request.
