The back of this booth is quilted in overlapping fans: each segment is stitched as a half-round shell and buttoned at its base, so the pattern rises across the back like scales. Above it, the shoulders of the booth step in twice at each end, a classic Deco silhouette, and every step is outlined in a fine brass edge.
The seat is a deep cushion in the same forest-green leather with a plain front. Below, instead of a timber plinth, the base is faced in black marble with a brass line at the top, which ties it to stone floors and bar fronts. In the room shown it stands against green panelled walls with fan-shaped glass sconces, a black marble table on a brass pedestal and walnut-framed velvet dining chairs.
Construction. Hardwood and plywood frame; quilted back panel made over a shaped foam layer with buttons through to the frame; brass edge profiles fixed to the stepped crest; stone-faced base or stone-effect alternative where weight matters.
Where it works. Art Deco bars, cocktail lounges, hotel bars and evening dining rooms.
Options. Fan or diamond quilting, leather or velvet, marble, timber or metal base, brass or bronze edging, and booth length. Foams and coverings specified to BS 5852 / BS 7176 on request.
