The Fluted Velvet End turns the short face of the banquette into an architectural element. While the seating face stays in one material, the end is upholstered in deep green velvet in vertical flutes, separated from the front by a contrasting welt at the corner. Seen down an aisle, each banquette end looks like a pilaster, giving rhythm to a long room.
It is also the most economical way to bring a brand or accent colour into a dining room: the end faces are what guests see as they walk in, and they need only a small quantity of the accent fabric. Velvet flutes take light beautifully and are forgiving of small marks.
The flutes are stitched over shaped foam on a timber end panel, drawn and built as part of the run. Any velvet, mohair or wool can be used, including COM.
