Lifting a banquette off the floor changes the whole room: the floor runs uninterrupted to the wall, cleaning is faster and the seating looks lighter. This banquette is built as a rigid box hung from a concealed steel rail fixed to the wall, with the seat face set back from the front so no support is visible.
The back is a single upholstered panel in deep teal velvet with a brushed-brass cap along the top. The seat cushion sits on a separate base, both edged with a fine contrasting piping that defines the horizontal lines. With nothing at floor level, the shadow beneath becomes part of the design.
Where it works. Contemporary fine dining, chef's counters and hotel restaurants with polished stone or terrazzo floors worth showing. It is a strong choice where cleaning between services must be quick.
Important. A floating banquette needs a wall that can take the load: solid masonry or a stud wall with structural backing designed in. We supply the fixing rail and loading details with the shop drawing so your contractor or engineer can confirm the wall before installation.
Options. Velvet colour, cap finish, back height, length and an optional LED strip beneath. Foams specified to meet BS 5852 / BS 7176 on request.
