One button, placed high on the inside back, is the only ornament on this chair, and it is enough. The inner seat and back are upholstered in a smooth, pale sand finish; the outer back and sides are wrapped in a contrasting dark material with a woven, basket-like texture, so the chair looks quiet from the table and graphic from the aisle.
The back curves gently in plan and rises well above shoulder height, which gives a sense of enclosure at a round table without the bulk of a wing chair. A slim upholstered roll edges the top of the shell. The frame is solid hardwood, stained black, with slightly splayed rear legs for stability and brass ferrules at the feet.
Where it works. Private dining rooms, round-table restaurants and hotel banqueting rooms where a run of identical high backs defines the room. Because the outer back carries the darker material, scuffs from passing staff and handbags show far less.
Options. Inner and outer materials chosen separately (leather, faux leather, velvet or textured fabric; COM/COL accepted); button colour; leg stain; brass, bronze or black ferrules. Fire-retardant foam to the destination market's rules on request.
